What is it?

It is the Wird or destiny itself. It is commonly known as a compass or wayfinder. Its interpretation suggests a north or physical direction, linking the Vikings to navigation.

But, in Norse-Celtic syncretism, the Vegvísir Galdrastafur (an object of magical power)

It is the inner compass. The eight paths of introspection and inner renewal. It relates to the stations of the soul; it is the seeker of the inner path.
